Towards Quantitative Analysis of Opacity

چکیده
Opacity is a general approach for describing and unifying security properties expressed as predicates. A predicate is opaque if an observer of the system is unable to determine the satisfaction of the predicate in a given run of the system. The meaning of opacity is straightforward when considering the standard (qualitative) operational semantics, but there are a number of possible interpretations in a context where quantitative information about system evolutions is available. We propose four variants of quantitative opacity defined for probabilistic labelled transition systems, with each variant capturing a different aspect of quantifying the opacity of a predicate. Moreover, we present results showing how these four properties can be checked or approximated for specific classes of probabilistic labelled transition systems, observation functions, and system predicates. keywords: Probabilistic opacity, Probabilistic labelled transition systems, Observations

A Mixed-methods Approach to Investigating Iranian EFL Learners’ Attitudes towards Academic Motivation in Learning Vocabulary
Abstract The present study aims at analyzing EFL learners’ attitudes towards motivating factors in learning vocab-ulary. A mixed-methods approach was used to conduct the study. In the qualitative analysis, Iranian EFL learners’ attitudes towards learning vocabulary were investigated through a semi-structured interview en-compassing 36 participants. Subsequently, a 56-item ‘motivation for v...
متن کاملOpaque Information, Deviation from Target Leverage and Speed of Adjustment
Information opacity leads to information asymmetry. In this situation, in providing their own financial needs, firms face limitations and inevitably provide their financial needs from the debt market by signalling private information to it. In addition, information opacity affects the leverage adjustment speed. This research investigates the effect of information opacity on deviation from targe...
متن کاملQuantitative CT Analysis of Pulmonary Ground-Glass Opacity Nodules for the Distinction of Invasive Adenocarcinoma from Pre-Invasive or Minimally Invasive Adenocarcinoma
OBJECTIVES We aimed to analyze the CT findings of ground-glass opacity nodules diagnosed pathologically as adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS), minimally invasive adenocarcinoma (MIA), and invasive adenocarcinoma in order to investigate whether quantitative CT parameters enable distinction of invasive adenocarcinoma from pre-invasive or minimally invasive adenocarcinoma. METHODS We reviewed CT image...
متن کاملAn approach towards effective ecological planning: Quantitative analysis of urban green space characteristics
In the best practices, planning of urban green spaces is managed in such a way that it follows the key principles such as meeting per capita standards and providing accessible and balanced distribution of these spaces all across the city. In the context of emerging economy, these principles are unfortunately not followed strictly all times. In this study, it is attempted to investigate Tabriz c...

an attempt to see when these properties attain their normal values during the course of treatment of kala-azar patients, it was found that even after a period of two months after the courses of injections are finished, the serum does not attain its normal value so far as these physical properties are concerned. Simultaneously with these experiments, Napier's aldehyde reaction has also been foll...
